Shelter Illumination

What We Offer

Marlec’s Solar Shelter Illumination system is a renewable-powered lighting solution designed to provide safe, efficient illumination without relying on the electrical grid.

Engineered for both new installations and retrofits, it combines solar energy with intelligent controls.

How does it work?

The system uses high-efficiency solar panels to generate electricity, stored in integrated batteries for night-time operation.

Lighting is managed by the Marlec LC101 controller, which allows programmable illumination levels. A built-in PIR sensor ensures the LED lights activate only when motion is detected, reducing energy use and minimising light pollution. This combination guarantees both energy efficiency and operational reliability in all weather conditions.

The Solar Bus Shelter is ideal where pedestrian safety and visibility are required after dark, particularly in rural or semi-urban areas where grid connection is impractical or costly. Its motion-activated system makes it suitable for both low-traffic and high-traffic areas, ensuring the lights operate only when needed, conserving energy while maintaining safety.

Simple System Installation

Solar Shelter Illumination kits are used across public transport networks, including rural bus stops, urban transit points, and community transport hubs.

The system can be retrofitted to existing bus shelters or included in new builds, providing versatile solutions for councils, transport authorities, and local communities.

The Solar Shelter Illumination kit is designed for straightforward installation with minimal disruption. Panels and controllers are pre-configured for efficient setup, and the system can be retrofitted onto existing structures without the need for extensive electrical work. This reduces installation time and cost while ensuring immediate, reliable operation.
